Our Cotton Anniversary

Well, folks, we made it!! Today is my 2nd wedding anniversary. I believe that we've already been through the toughest parts so it's smooth sailing ahead. Neither one of us thought that we would make it 2 years. I'm very proud of us. We kind of have to this tradition to get silly gifts for each other for our anniversary. Nathaniel brought home a cheap bottle of wine (not the cheapest), and a funny card. The card had a picture on the front of an old fat couple sitting on a couch. In front of where they're sitting was a coffee table that had a beer bottle serving as a candle holder and a "feast" of hotdogs. On the inside of the card it reads "Here's To Romance" because the couple is toasting. I guess you'd just have to see it. I had to laugh. I made Nathaniel a card, too. On the front of his it says "Happy 2nd Anniversary" and there is a hole cut out at the top with cotton balls poking through. The 2nd anniversary is traditionally the cotton anniversary. As you open up the card the cotton turns out to be the back end of a sheep. I drew a bewildered sheep peeking around it's ass. The sheep is standing on a stump. She's a stump-broken sheep. This had to do with a running joke in our house. Again, I guess you had to be there.

Fuckin Aunt Flow had to come in today, too. We celebrated anyway! We were going to Florida for our anniversary but hurricane Frances has other plans. We've decided to really start in on building our house instead. We're disappointed but we really need to get things rolling with the house, too. So, we're making lemonade with the lemons.
